- Abstract
This article presents the results of a research in which the relation between the experienced motherhood in adolescents and the quality of their early attachment experiences was analyzed. The nature of this study is qualitative, on the basis of the theoretical and methodological approach of Symbolic Interactionism. Eight adolescents took part in this, all of them reside in three municipalities located in the east of Antioquia. For data gathering, a narrative interview with thematic script was designed in order to explore the meanings associated with motherhood and relational biographical experiences. The information obtained was organized by thematic cores according to the motherhood constellation model proposed by Daniel Stern. This research reports that motherhood in adolescence is lived as an ambivalent experience which is related to their biographical experiences from three principal meanings: possibility of company, search of meaning for their lives and an anchor point in their transition to adulthood.
