- Abstract
The article focuses on the issue of cross-border insolvency regime and its adoption by emerging economies like Brazil, Russia, India and China (BRIC) countries. It discusses various concepts central to the adoption of cross-border insolvency which include foreign insolvency proceeding recognition, coordination between proceedings in different jurisdictions and proper treatment of foreign creditors. Also mentioned are challenges faced by BRIC countries in reforming cross-border insolvency law.
