- Abstract
The article discusses a research study on the association between cancer risk and total intake of fruits and vegetables. It references a study by Paolo Boffetta and colleagues, published in the 2010 issue of the "Journal of Cancer Institute." The researchers have discovered that increasing fruit and vegetable intake by 200 grams everyday was associated with a 3 percent reduction in cancer risk, contradicting the previous idea that they can prevent cancer significantly. However, fruits and vegetables appear to reduce cardiovascular risk.
