The article presents the author's view on the intertextual aspects of the adventure story of King Edward I of England along the wooded coast of North Wales. He is critical on the setting of the story which is called the "merciless forest." The author points that such place is significant in the story and has identified it as magical. He also mentions about the story's text-internal functionality and entertainment value.
