- Abstract
The text presents the collection of early printed books from the library of the T G. Masaryk Institute (founded during the 1st Czechoslovak Republic era) Extensive and wide-ranging collection numbering over 11 000 titles published in the period between 1501-1800, mostly from the purchase of the collector Rudolf Hirsch, is accessible for the first time since 1938. The original library arrangement was lost/destroyed and so the text describes the method of indexing used for the orientation in the fund and the using of free software in the project The Database of Rare Books in the Collections of the Institute of T. G. Masaryk. Revised part of the results is publicly accessible (including photographic documentation) on the project website http://oldprintmua.cas.cz.
