Antibodies were detected by precipitation in both serum and intestinal mucus of fish, and presented antigen-antibody reaction only when adult parasites were used. Serum total protein levels may have increased in infected animals due to increased antibody production and elevated alkaline phosphatase levels in these animals. I macropomum i antibodies and evaluate changes in humoral factors in the immune response in serum and intestinal mucus as a result of an acanthocephalan infection.
