- Abstract
The article presents information about continuous glucose monitors, devices that measure interstitial glucose every 1-5 minutes. These devices automatically transmit readings to a specific receiver, such as a smartphone or smartwatch. It mainly focuses on flash glucose monitoring, with the most common system on the market being the Freestyle Libre2. It also mentions the use of continuous glucose readers, such as the FreeStyle Libre, which allows for measuring blood glucose and ketone levels. These systems are included in the portfolio of services of the National Health System for patients with type 1 and type 2 diabetes who require intensive insulin therapy. Additionally, other real-time continuous glucose monitoring systems available in the Spanish market are mentioned, such as Dexcom, Guardian, Eversense XL, GlucomenDay, and FreeStyle Libre 3. These systems allow the use of a mobile phone as a receiver and internet connection to share data in real-time.
