- Authors
DIAMOND, A. J.
- Abstract
The author, a Canadian, discusses his artistic techniques and aesthetic philosophy. His tools must be portable, as he enjoys working out of doors. His paint box fits into a small case which can also hold water supplies. The advantages of small sketchbooks, sable paintbrushes and pencils are described. The author also addresses his development as an artist, which is described as a largely intuitive process. The primordial appeal of mark-making and the beauty of ancient cave art are mentioned. Several reproductions of his watercolor paintings are also included, which feature depictions of ancient buildings.
