- Abstract
The article discusses research on how tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC) can be associated with aneurysms. It references a study by Nada Kanaan and colleagues, published in the September 18, 2008 issue of "NDT Plus." The researchers studied the case of a 33-year-old TSC patient with spontaneous haemorrhage caused by ruptured aneurysms in the right renal artery. They found that aneurysms in TSC can be caused by increased vascular fragility secondary to the fragmentation of the elastic fibers and accumulation of mucopolysaccharides.
