- Abstract
This study is an approach to contemporary Central American literature, their tendencies and new proposals. It focuses on the study of Encierro y divagación en tres espacios y un anexo (2001) a collection of poems by the Guatemalan writer Maurice Echeverría. This proposal allows the establishment of a dialog among theories related with identities construction, postmodernism and urban space. Thus, the voice / lyric image configuration shows subject deconstruction, questions the existence of a Central American poetry and redefines historiographic categories through which Central American subjects are and have been read. Consequently, reading this collection of poems requires to think about 'our-selves' once again.
