- Abstract
The article examines revisions made to the social studies curriculum in Texas public schools in 2010 and compares the changes to Texas's 1998 standards. It analyzes the process for social studies standards revisions in Texas through the Texas State Board of Education (SBOE), the state of social studies following the passage of U.S. legislation known as the No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB), and discusses the 2010 Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) social studies curriculum.
