- Abstract
The article presents a study which evaluates the effectiveness of contrast enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) in the characterization of complex cystic lesions and solid masses for cancer in renal transplant patients (RTRs) with acquired cystic kidney disease (ACKD). The researchers developed a surveillance protocol which aims to avoid the risk of contrast induced nephropathy (CIN). It is inferred that the surveillance approach minimizes the use of contrast ehnhanced computerized tomography (CECT).
