- Title

- Abstract
The starting point of this article is a dual assumption that, first, the materiality of that which is being transmitted is far superior to that which is printed and, second, that social actors transmit and give new meaning to different notions of power. Thus, politics cannot be conceived as exclusively institutional but as a collective construct. In this way, this paper shall analyse the circulation and materiality of the concepts of scandal and commotion which in the Late Middle Ages referred to those who broke the public order.
