- Abstract
The article discusses the philanthropic efforts of U.S. expatriate industrialist Edward Tuck, with emphasis given to his commitment to New Hampshire educational institutions. Gifts given by Tuck to Dartmouth University, Phillips Exeter Academy, and the headquarters of the New Hampshire Historical Society are given particular focus. Tuck supported private sector involvement in philanthropic efforts. Tuck's father, Amos Tucker, was also heavily involved in philanthropy and sought to improve public welfare.
