- Abstract
The article presents a case study of a 22-year-old man who was unable to remove a titanium alloy ring from his right middle finger for a physical examination. He complained of "pins and needles" and a painful, swollen finger. A powered hand saw with a diamond headed blade from the hospital works department was used to cut the ring in two places, and a water jet was used to prevent thermal injury. The patient suffered no secondary injury and recovered. INSET: Case Report.
