- Abstract
The article focuses on history of general warrants and how courts have applied the doctrine of severability. It mentions standard for severability set out in Tenth Circuit case U.S. v. Sells and Court needs to acknowledge this doctrine and give it its blessing. Second, the court needs to clarify how it should be used and not be used. It also mentions need of creating a general standard for the severability doctrine, defendants and law enforcement alike will have a fairer day in court.
