- Title
Bluetongue in France: a role for wildlife in the latest outbreaks?
- Abstract
The article reports that the International Disease Monitoring (IDM) unit of the British Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) has put forward the possibility that the bluetongue outbreak among domestic ruminants in France, which started in September 2015, may have come from wildlife. Topics discussed include the IDM's claim that bluetongue may have been present in wild ruminants for a few years prior to 2015 and only affected domestics because of a drop in herd immunity.
