- Abstract
Italian novelist Antonio Scurati was scheduled to read his monologue about Liberation Day on a national television program in Italy. However, the host of the show announced on social media that Scurati's contract had been annulled and he would not be appearing. This led to accusations of censorship and sparked a viral response. The Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni, posted Scurati's monologue on her Facebook page, claiming that the cancellation was due to financial reasons. Scurati's monologue and his reply to Meloni have gained widespread support, with many coming out in support of the writer.
