How Big Oil is Taking Us for a Fossil-Fuelized Ride.
- Authors

- Abstract
A recent opinion poll revealed that a significant portion of Americans prioritize fighting the climate crisis, which has challenged the fossil fuel industry's attempts to downplay climate change. However, these companies have now shifted their strategy to "greenwashing," attempting to convince the public that they are transitioning to green energy. The hosting of the COP28 climate summit by the United Arab Emirates, a major petroleum exporter, exemplified this greenwashing. Oil companies like ExxonMobil and Shell have also engaged in deceptive marketing campaigns to create the illusion of sustainability. Despite the increasing popularity and affordability of green energy, these companies continue to invest in fossil fuel production, causing significant harm to the environment.
