- Abstract
The article focuses on the role of Title IX of the U.S. Education Amendments Act in assisting female athletic coaches to attain equal opportunities in intercollegiate sports. It discusses Title IX regulations applicable to female coaches and the three-prong test for the compliance of the statute. It suggests that the Department of Education Office of Civil Rights (OCR) should enact remedies and penalties such as withdrawal of federal funds from institutions in violation of Title IX.
