The article offers information on a study conducted by researcher J. De Yoreo related to role played by organic acidic additives in calcium carbonate's (CaCO3) formation, which is published in the periodical "Nature Materials." Topics discussed include the use of transmission electron microscopy (TEM) in understanding the role of organic acidic additives, reduction in dependence of nucleation on kinetic barriers due to binding of calcium ions with polystyrene sulphonate (PSS).
