- Abstract
The article focuses on the significance of personal empowerment, unity, and cooperation in promoting child development, evaluating the role of Pastoral del Niño, a group established by Catholic Church relief organization Pastoral Social in Paraguay. It says that Pastoral Social involves expectant mothers and parents with children less than five-years-old who lived in the rural areas. The participants accordingly were educated of the importance of having healthy living condition and participating in community, aiming to remove self-depreciation and to promote awareness on children's needs. It notes that their children shows significant cognitive development based on their condition in schools compared to non-Pastoral children, while parents become increasingly involved in the communities.
