- Abstract
The article focuses on the outbreak of Eutypa lata infections on the high-yielding selection of Zinfandel grape varieties in Colusa County, California. According to a study, it is actually Botryosphaeria not Eutypa as the primary cause of spur dieback in some of the vineyards. The likely source of spore release, which causes the spreading of the infection, were the deadwood pruning and the cordon left under the vine.
