- Abstract
Adrenocortical carcinoma has an incidence of 2 cases per million population, being the second most aggressive endocrine neoplasia reported. It has bimodal distribution, with a male: female ratio of 1.5 to 1. The majority without incidentalomas, and the clinical picture depends on whether they are functional (62%) or not (38%) being Cushing's syndrome the most commonly associated. The cornerstone of treatment is surgery, either open or laparoscopic, and as adjuvant chemotherapy and radiation. We report the case of a 58 year old male patient with a nonfunctioning left adrenal mass, who underwent surgical treatment initially and later received adjuvant chemotherapy with partial response.
