A photo essay featuring late nineteenth-century portraits of children from the Swift River Valley in Massachusetts, the area which was flooded to create the Quabbin Reservoir, is presented. The photographs were taken from the collection of the Swift River Valley Historical Society in New Salem, Massachusetts.
