- Abstract
The article discusses metacognition and its relation to self-regulated learning in an inquiry-based geography curriculum. The author cites that incorporating a metacognitive dimension into geography could be effective if the delivery of such subject is based on constructivist principles. Categories of various approaches to fieldwork in geographic education are outlined. It states the role of both reflective and metacognitive skills in student's self-assessment practices.
