- Abstract
The article discusses the detailing requirements and proposed new confinement provisions appropriate for use in the American Concrete Institute (ACI) 318 Building Code in the U.S. It mentions that the proposed provisions will provide higher degree of safety for various properties in the construction industry. Some of the provisions include lateral restraints for corner bars, use of 135-degree hooks for improved confinement, and closely spaced longitudinal bars.
