The article offers case studies of the role of newspapers in Victorian era poetry publishing in Great Britain. Local newspapers addressed in terms of poetry publication include the "Blackburn Standard," Bristol Mercury," "Hampshire Telegraph," "Manchester Times," and "Middlesbrough Gazette." Topics include the length and number of poems published, the identities of newspaper poets, and the importance of local places in newspaper poems.
