- Abstract
The article discusses criminal sentencing guidelines in the U.S. and the U.S. Supreme Court case United States v. Booker which deals with the nation's Sentencing Reform Act of 1984 and the legal standard of review for issues regarding sentencing for crimes as of May 2012. The alleged racial disparity involved in the issuance of criminal sentences in the U.S. is also addressed.
