- Abstract
The article discusses a collaborative planning framework for special education educators who are implementing response-to-intervention (RTI) programs for special education students as a result of the U.S. Individuals With Disabilities Education Improvement Act of 2004. A discussion of the details of the framework, which addresses how educators can use universal screening and progress monitoring data to plan for instruction at all tiers and evaluates the responsiveness of interventions provided at the Tier 2 and Tier 3 levels within the RTI model, is presented.
