- Authors
Sanderson, Katharine
- Abstract
The article focuses on the industry-wide move for an environment friendly production by chemical companies called green chemistry. It says that the term "green chemistry" was introduced by Paul Anastas of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in 1991, with a goal of redesigning chemical processes to make industrial chemistry more energy efficient, cleaner and safer. It adds that the green chemistry movement has helped the chemical industry become more cleaner since 1991.
