- Title
The shale revolution.
- Abstract
The article reports on the shortage of U.S. natural gas and the rise of its production. It states that the use of advanced technology released the huge quantities of gas trapped underground in impermeable strata of shale. It mentions that in the biennial report released in June 2009 by the Potential Gas Committee, a volunteer group of industry, government and academic experts in Golden, Colorado, its estimate of recoverable gas reserves increased and amounted to 39%, mostly because of shale gas.
