- Abstract
Aim: The study was conducted to determine the daily life activity levels of patients who were hospitalized for COVID-19 disease after discharge. Method: The study was conducted on 230 patients who were hospitalized due to COVID-19 disease and at least a month had elapsed since their discharge. Data were collected by telephone interview method between July 2021 and September 2021. The data of the study were collected using the Descriptive Characteristics Form and the Katz Activities of Daily Living Scale. Research data are given using the median and interquartile ranges for non-normally distributed variables. The Wilcoxon Ordered Signs test was used to compare the data. Results: The mean age of the participants was 57.28±14.6, 47.8% were female and 16.1% were unvaccinated. The participants' mean daily life activity score before COVID-19 disease was 17.5±2.7 and the mean daily life activity score after COVID-19 disease was 17.3±3.3. In the study, no significant difference was found between the mean scores of daily life activities before and after COVID-19 disease. Conclusion: It is recommended that individuals who were hospitalized due to COVID-19 disease should be followed by the health professionals after their discharge, the life activities of these individuals should be evaluated, also their care needs should be determined and individualized health services should be continued outside hospital.
