- Abstract
The article cites a study which seeks to investigate the levels of lead and cadmium found in the liver and kidney of wild boar and deer from Sierra Morena Mountains in Andalusia, Spain. The study was intended to evaluate the environmental contamination of the two heavy metals. Researchers have selected four areas of the Sierra Morena Mountains for sampling, where they obtained liver and kidney samples from 67 deer and 29 wild boar. The concentrations of lead and cadmium were studied using the Anodic Stripping Voltammetry analysis method. Accordingly, the researchers found that greater quantity of lead was present in wild boar. On the other hand, greater amount of cadmium was found in the liver and kidney of deer.
