- Abstract
The aim of our study was to control fish bacterial diseases or infections through application of some promising novel biocontrol methods, such as prebiotics to avoid the disadvantages of traditional one that potentially affects fish and human health. Bacterial infection in intensive pisciculture causes a huge loss, which was overcome by the use of chemicals and antibiotics, but their messy use is associated with potential harmful effect in form of drug resistance. So the use of prebioticsas biocontrol agents for aquaculture is growing with the demand for environmental, eco-friendly alternatives for sustainable fish production. The remunerations of such supplements include upgraded food value, inhibition of pathogenic microorganisms, and improved immune response.
