- Title
Stem cell renewal theory turns 60.
- Authors
Simons, Benjamin D.
- Abstract
The article discusses research being done on stem cell renewal. It references the articles "Renewal of spermatogonia in the rat," by Y. Clermont and C. P. Leblond in the 1953 issue of the journal "American Journal of Anatomy," and "Definition of the stages of the cycle of the seminiferous epithelium in the rat" in the 1952 issue of the journal "Annals of the New York Academy of Science." The authors suggested that a minimal A-type spermatogonia does not change into intermediates.
