- Abstract
The article "Reliable weed control despite reduction of herbicides" reports on the challenges in agricultural practice, particularly regarding the implementation of the crop farming strategy 2023 and the required reductions in plant protection products. In order to continue ensuring reliable weed regulation, the decision support program InnoHerb was developed, which calculates efficient and effective application rates for chemical weed control in maize and winter cereals. The program allows for savings without significant investments in new technical equipment. The potentials of the decision support system are presented using typical weed infestations in maize and winter wheat, illustrating herbicide reductions in ecological and economic terms. The research was funded by the purpose fund of the federal government at the Landwirtschaftliche Rentenbank.
