The article presents various aspects of transit-oriented development (TOD) in the U.S., including steps for implementing TOD plans, its roadblocks and avenues. It is given that the most basic level of a TOD plan is to identify strategic locations that lend themselves to efficient and convenient use of mass transportation. It also looks at various aspects pedestrian-oriented development (POD) codes, adopted by government.
