- Title
TECHNIQUES FOR CONTROLLING THE SURROUNDINGS OF HISTORIC SITES.
- Authors
BRENNEMAN, RUSSELL L.
- Abstract
The article presents possible techniques to ensure the right controls over the surrounding areas of the historic site are executed. An examination of the conservation easement or open space easement as a control technique is discussed. Documenting promises and commitments from succeeding owners of the site that the preservation efforts will be maintained is also part of the control technique suggested. For areas where conservation easement and promises are not applicable, revisions in the law such as those in Connecticut 1971 are implemented.
