THE ECONOMICS OF WAGE DISPUTE SETTLEMENT.
- Authors
DUNLOP, JOHN T.
- Abstract
In this article the author discusses economics of settlement of wage related disputes in the U.S. It states that comparable wage rate is frequently employed in dispute settlement in transmitting impact of critical decisions throughout the rest of the wage structure. It mentions that another argument in this dispute is that wages should change with change in production and that increase in production should lead to increase in wages. It highlights that cost of living index has been used as a standard to determine change in wage rates. It reports that all these factors of determining wages have limitations like employees and employers frequently have divergent and conflicting basic objectives.
