- Abstract
The article discusses the most common medium and themes of Yiddish chapbooks, a type of literature geared for mass consumption, in the nineteenth century. Description of the peculiar and innovative punctuation, enumeration of the features of the treyf-posl and details of the exclusive application of the square typeface in Yiddish chapbooks are also discussed and examined.
