- Abstract
â-endorphin is primarily synthesized in the hypothalamus and the anterior and intermediate lobes of the pituitary, but also immune cells. The function of â-endorphin has been known to be associated with hunger, thrill, pain, maternal care, sexual behavior and reward cognition The study has been conducted on 50 Iraqi patients with acute myeloid leukemia and 50 matched healthy-looking subject. The age range of the patients within 17-80 years also the age, gender and male/female ratio had been obtained for patients and control. Our study showed a decreased level of hormone β endorphin in AML.
