- Abstract
"Outspoken" is a memoir by Sima Samar that recounts her fight for freedom and human rights in Afghanistan. The book begins with the devastating attack on a girls' school in Kabul, which Samar sees as a symbol of the violence unleashed by the US-Taliban Doha deal. Throughout the memoir, Samar shares her experiences as a female activist and the challenges faced by Afghan women in a patriarchal society. She also criticizes the corruption of Afghan leaders and the collusion of the US in excluding Afghan women from peace negotiations. The book offers insights into the resilience and agency of Afghan women and sheds light on the impact of geopolitical interests on justice in Afghanistan.
