- Abstract
The novel flexible and resilient poly(butylene succinate-co-butylene oxybisbenzoic) esters were synthesized by a two-step reaction of esterification and polycondensation. The obtained copolyesters were characterized using gel permeation chromatography, 1H NMR spectroscopy, wide-angle X-ray diffraction, and dynamic thermomechanical analyzer. The mechanical properties were also investigated by the tensile, cyclic tensile, creep and recovery, and stress relaxation testing. The copolyesters have the amorphous nature, excellent flexibility. The elongation at break lies in the range of 510–2870%. In addition, several theoretical models were used to describe the creep and recovery behavior of the copolyesters for a better understanding of the mechanisms.
