- Abstract
The article discusses the author's views about the need for U.S. federal regulation over the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) as of 2017, and it mentions an effort to protect the mental health of student-athletes in America. Suicides involving student-athletes are addressed, along with the U.S. Americans with Disabilities Act, the country's National Labor Relations Act, and Title IX of the U.S. Education Amendments of 1972. Gender-specific mental health issues are assessed.
