- Abstract
Two high-power pulsed devices that are designed for studying reverse switch-on dynistors (RSDs) with a diameter of structures of up to 80 mm in high-current pulse modes are considered. The study of RSDs was carried out by measuring the voltage drops at different amplitudes and durations of the power-current and control-current pulses. One of the devices allows investigations of RSDs during the flow of power-current pulses with an amplitude of up to 20 kA and a very high rise rate (up to 20 kA/μs). Another device is designed to study RSDs in the switching mode of power-current pulses with a very high amplitude (up to 200 kA) and a duration of up to 90 μs. The RSD triggering units, which allow generation of control-current pulses with a front of 1.5 μs and an amplitude of up to 1.5 kA, are described.
