- Abstract
The article relates a young nurse's experience of interviewing a mother whose child died from histiocytosis. According to the author, the personal response of the nurse to the mother's story reflects her connection to the mother's anguish. The author notes that the response of the nurse is more than a qualitative strategy because it demonstrates her ability to reflect on her own life.
