- Abstract
The article discusses the result of the Australian longitudinal panel survey entitled "Negotiating the Life Course" which aimed to portray the outlook of married life and the role of relationship type in the establishment and retention of healthy couple relationships. The study specifically examined the positive associations of marital status, employment and a range of health measures. The researchers identified an important effect of relationship on women's health, either they were married or not. Two hypotheses were formed explaining how work and family responsibilities might impact on the different aspects of human health.
