The article discusses the effects of the administration of vitamin D sterols to dialysis patients. It states that hypercalcemia is the principal contradiction of using active vitamin D sterols on hemodialysis patients. Moreover, phosphate levels of hyperphosphatemia patients must be reduced before administering active vitamin D sterols.
