- Title
FEI Task Force Urges Changes.
- Abstract
The article reports that a Financial Executives International (FEI) task force developed recommendations that will improve financial reporting, corporate governance, and financial management. The FEI group also identified factors contributing to financial failures and scandals such as: unethical conduct at the senior management level: lack of effective board oversight, financial expertise on audit committees, and transparency in financial reporting; complex accounting standards; and failed quality control methods. The recommendations are in four areas including rebuilding public confidence in financial accounting and reporting. FEI President Phil Livingston is mentioned.
